Honduras Day 1

Tegucigalpa, Honduras (Capital City)

Greetings! Today was a travel day. Beginning at 4am EST, the CPCOC Honduran team drove down to the Albany airport in order to begin their long journey to Catacamas, Honduras. Flights went well and we arrived in Tegucigalpa, Honduras around 11:45am (Central American Time) after a brief connection in Atlanta. After successfully navigating customs, we met with Wilmer (Honduran Mission Director) who took us to our taxi for the long, three hour drive to the state of Olancho (where Catacamas is located). On the way, we stopped outside the city and grabbed some food. After three hours filled with discussion, laughter, dodging oncoming traffic, and going from pavement to dirt and back to pavement, we finally reached our destination, Catacamas. Following a brief time at the Juan Carlos Hotel, we proceeded to head to Suyapa’s (a member of the church) restaurant for dinner and fellowship. The night ended with a brief discussion of the next days activities and saying goodnight before retiring to our rooms.

I will do my best to update on our progress every day as long as internet continues. We arrived safe, happy, and healthy thanks to your prayers and Wilmer’s direction. Tomorrow we begin work.
